Great new commissions require a well constructed brief, careful contracting, communication with various partners and stakeholders, and sustained curatorial and logistical support. Essentially it’s a process which I can be relied on to guide artists and organisations through.

In 2016 I set up the visual arts programme at Green Man, a music festival attended by 20,000 people each year in the Brecon Beacons,Wales. Since then we have commissioned 10 new temporary art works. Supported by Green Man Trust and Arts Council Wales, artist development is at the heart of the programme. I work with commissioned artists over a 12-month period, and run an artist residency over the festival weekend. It is the only programme of its kind in the UK.

Previously at Secret Garden Party I set up a dance programme as part of the festival’s participatory focus, funded through it’s open call grants. I curated and produced seemingly ad hoc performances from Krump to ballet, and battle jams between Swing Dancers and Break Dancers with a live scratch DJ and a Brass Band. The Swing Break Battle Jam act outlived the festival, touring to Swingamajig in Birmingham, and Bestival in Dorset.
